Technician training is extremely important to Indmar and it should be important to your business as well. Trained technicians are necessary to ensure the high levels of customer satisfaction that we need to keep customers happy. Happy customers come back …plus they tell their friends… which turns their friends into potential customers. Trained technicians are also required by Indmar for your dealership to receive the maximum level of warranty labor reimbursement. Don’t miss this opportunity to improve your bottom line.
Several years ago we introduced the Indmar University On-line training program and gave you the convenience of being able to complete all of the classroom and theoretical portions of the training at your own pace and in the comfort of your home or office. We are continuing with the on-line training for the 2018/2019 training year. We will complete the training experience by offering a series of hands-on training sessions at our Millington, TN and Merced, CA facilities. Technicians that have completed the On-Line Certification Training are required to complete one of these hands-on sessions within 12 months of completing the on-line training. Besides being a requirement for initial certification, these sessions are also available to recertify any technician whose certification is current.
These two day, small group (class size 6-12) sessions, are designed to round-out your training by providing the hands-on portions of the training on both Ford and GM based product that can’t be done on-line. Keeping the class sizes small will ensure that everyone gets the opportunity to get their hands on the engines and equipment to enhance their training experience.
To be eligible to attend one of these required hands-on sessions, the technician must have completed the on-line Indmar Certification Training or have a current Indmar Certificate.
You will be notified if the technician has not met the eligibility requirements. The cost of the training session is $50.00 per technician. The fee is refundable if cancellation notifications are received at least two weeks before the scheduled session.
Each technician (or group of technicians from a dealership) will need a laptop computer loaded with Diacom and the appropriate cables to be able to communicate with the new Indmar/Ford based engines. Each technician (or group) will also need a Digital Volt Ohm Milliammeter. Each technician attending one of the sessions in Millington MUST also bring safety glasses.
The sessions will start promptly at 8:00 AM (9:00 in California) and should be finished by 4:30 PM. There will be ample break times and an hour for lunch on your own. Don’t wait … sign up today.
The Enrollment period for the classes ends Friday December 8. Reserve a spot by ordering the session that you want by part number on the Indmar Dealer Portal.
NOTE: Please enter your e-mail address in the Comments Box on the Step 1: Shipping page during the Checkout process.
The session part numbers, dates and locations are listed below:
Once the reservation for the session has been received, you will be invoiced for the class like any Indmar part and will be sent instructions on how to access the enrollment form and complete the registration process.
You must fill out an enrollment form for each technician and e-mail a copy to lengelbert@indmar.com as soon as you get the acknowledgement. The enrollment form is available in the Service Training folder from the Files and Forms tab on the Indmar Dealer Portal.
Just because you have made a reservation for a particular class is no guarantee the class will run. We must have at least 6 technicians enrolled in a class to be able to conduct the class. We will let you know if the class will be conducted by December 15 or when we have sufficient enrollment to run the class. We recommend that you do NOT make travel/airline reservations before you are notified that the class will be conducted.
NOTE: If you need to get your technician(s) enrolled in the on-line training, click on the Training Tab on the Indmar Dealer Portal Home Page … then on Purchase Training. The link will then take you to a web page that will allow you to get your technician(s) signed up and enrolled in the on-line courses they need. You can download training information and a guide to help you get signed up from the Service Training folder in the files and forms section of the Indmar Dealer Portal.
Note: There is information posted in the Training folder on the Indmar Dealer Portal regarding places to stay, and other important information for each of the training locations.
Note: The certification status of each technician that has been certified or recertified since the 2009-2010 training season can be found in the Training Folder on the Indmar Dealer Portal. The list is sorted alphabetically by the technician’s last name. The list includes the certification expiration date and if their certification has expired and what they must do to become recertified.
